Design and implementation of an interactive event tool in honor of the 10-year anniversary of the Bread & Butter fashion fair in Berlin, to wow the professionals attending the fair and remain in their memories as a real highlight of the event.
If we’d been able to translate B&B as “Bed & Breakfast”, this job would have been easier. But here the abbreviation stood for the “Bread & Butter” trade fair in Berlin - and if you want to make an lasting impression there, you have to come up with something really out of the ordinary. So to attract fashion-conscious passers-by, we developed a campaign which oozed with style.
We constructed an impressive photo studio for trade fair visitors and other bystanders. Here we sat them on an original wheelie bike in front of a green screen, where they found themselves transported with screeching tires to the runway of Berlin Tempelhof Airport. The personal “burnout pictures” were printed out immediately and handed to the respondents as a freebie - before finding their way onto the Internet via a Facebook app.
The mobile photo studio was not only used in Berlin, but also in Brandenburg, at the legendary MELT! - where visitors were given the chance to take the stage as a virtual “lead act” at the music festival. During the course of the Bread & Butter fair, 1,270 photos were taken, processed, and printed. At MELT! we took 1,090 photos - most of them with more than one person in the picture. Thanks to cross-media circulation, the campaign suffused the Internet - thus significantly increasing coverage.
