Creation of a website to do justice to a track and field whiz kid - and raise the bar a little higher for competitors.
Mutaz Barshim’s motto is “What gravity, huh!?” - which basically means that the high-jumper from Qatar regards gravity as something to be taken very lightly. In 2014, he elegantly cleared a height of 2.43 m at a Diamond League event in Brussels. Afterwards, we designed his new website with the same elegance.
The landing page immediately makes it clear that Mutaz Barshim has his head in the clouds. As indoor world champion in 2014, his aim of beating the 20-year-old world record for high jump (2.45 m) within the next few months doesn’t seem so very implausible.
The site navigation guides Internet users through his biography and a list of his sporting achievements. The website also includes news, his schedule, a blog, and a photo and video gallery. The logo with the triangular bird of prey is a key visual which accompanies the user through the website as a recurring graphic element.
